The Revelation of Baha'u'llah Volume One, by Adib Taherzadeh

While on pilgrimage in March, 2011 in the Holy Land, I visited the grave of the author, Adib Taherzadeh, at the Baha'i Cemetary in Haifa, near the cave of Elijah on Mount Carmel and thanked him for his gift of these wonderful books. I now have a heart connection with the author.
I previously read all four volumes of these historical books and now, ten years later am re-reading them as one of my last projects (I am 78 years old) and getting even more out of them. It tells of the Life of Baha'u'llah and takes place during the years 1853 to 1863 from Tehran, Iran, to Baghdad, Iraq, tracing His exile, persecution, and His Writings during this period of His life. It takes you from the black dungeon Siyyah Chal in Tehran, where He was freighted with chains of 52 kilograms, to the Ridvan Garden in Baghdad, where He announced His Mission, before being further exiled to Constantinople, Adrianople and finally to the Most Great Prison in Acca, Israel where He died in 1892 and is buried.
The author's insights and explanation of the circumstances under which they were revealed added a lot my previous understanding of these same Writings.
I highly recommend it to Baha'i readers, to scholars of any background and to anyone curious about the origins of this world religion, now the second most widespread religion in the world.
My previous copy of this book fell apart so I ordererd this one to replace it and keep my library in good condition.

Wonderful history and stories about the early Baha'i Faith

The First Volume of this 4-volume set is somewhat more academic, but is still very helpful in understanding the early days of Baha'u'llah's writings. (He's the Founder of the Baha'i Faith which is an independent world religion focussing on the oneness of all humankind and the abolition of warfare and all types of prejudice, based on the fact that we all come from the same Creator.) Then the 2nd Volume gets rolling, and the 3rd and 4th Volumes are full of wonderful, heart-warming stories of the very early Baha'is in Persia (Iran). The amazing stories are interwoven with the explanations of the texts of Baha'u'llah's many many Writings. Excellent for Baha'is and anyone who wants to undertake a study of the Baha'i Writings. It's interspersed with little essays by Mr. Taherzadeh like what is the nature of the soul and its progress from this world into the world beyond, and similar thoughts. Well worth it. I love it so much, that recently in the face of a house-move, I found that my 4 volumes were packed at the bottom of our storage facility and cannot be found, so I re-bought them all over again! I can't wait for all the four volumes to come out on Kindle!

If you are interested in Baha'i history, this series is an excellent read. It provides great stories and details, and relevant quotes.
